The abandoned Vegemite factory
I'm on a secret mission off to investigate an mahue (abandoned) vegemite
factory. When we got there, I looked up, it was about 5 times my height. I
had never seen anything like it . I scraped my hand along the wall, it felt
crusty and old. My heart skipped a beat as I walked in. A big whiff off old
dust that smells like ash hit me. That’s when I got the eerie feeling that this
place was built 10,000s and 10,000s of years ago. The ash from 10,000s of
years ago had blown away but this ash smelt new and smoke from a fire
was hovering in the air above us.

When we got inside the musty door slammed behind my colleagues who like
vegemite. I felt winiwini (fearful). We carefully looked upstairs for any clues
of why people left this creepy/spooky place. The mouldy staircases creaked
as we carefully walked up them. When we got to the top there was two ways
to chose to investigate, left or right. We chose to split up. We slowly walked
until we found a door that said KEEP OUT in whero (red). Beneath it was a
rusty old padlock I knew we could unlock it because it was probably over
10,000 years old. When we tugged on the dirty door it flung open. It smelt
like dead rats but when we walked in to the wet floorboards. We heard a
deafening noise behind us. I felt like someone was following us… My
curiosity got the better of me and it turned on my torch to find the vegemite
factory owner.

“ What are you doing at my old vegemite factory?” The vegemite owner
screeched. “ We are investigating this old dungeon” we said.
“But what for?” “To find out why people left this place. ’’ The owner looked
old and wrinkly like a mouldy grapefruit and his eyes were faded. Suddenly
there was a loud BANG. The owner took us to a secret room. It was
surprisingly clean and there were 3 windows to let the light and fresh smell
in. There was a spotty sofa with some fluffy pillows on them. I heard a
squeak. I looked behind me and the door was wide open and something
jumped out…
