Our future food

Every year the human population of earth is increasing this is putting huge pressure on our
planet .One of the main issues we are facing is how we will be able to feed everyone in the
future . Current methods of farming use too much land and other resources. This will become
understandable. We need to start thinking of other ways to produce food. Insects are an
excellent health food and are easy to farm. Insects would be a good alternate food source
for us to start eating. 

Firstly, we need to start eating insects because they have lots of protein, fiber, good fats, vitamins and minerals. When you start eating insects your portion levels go up. If you start eating insects you won’t need to drink as much and even if you don’t like the taste of them then you can dip crickets in melted chocolate or put ants in lollipops and other things like that.   

Secondly, insects don't take up lots of room when you farm them. When you farm them you don’t need much resources like water and land. If we don’t start eating insects before cows, pigs, chickens and other things like that then we might die out because we won’t be able to produce enough food.

Thirdly, there is lots of insects all over the world. And when you start farming them or keep on farming them it will be very cheap because you don’t need much water or anything else to farm them.    

In conclusion I believe we need to start eating insects because it does not cost much money, they have lots of protein and you don’t need much to farm them.

Toki Pounamu Film Festival

     Toki Pounamu Film Festival 

                 The robbery 

Today I went to the Toki Pounamu Film Festival. It was the first film
festival that we have had on the West Coast for school children.
The Toki Pounamu Film Festival is a festival that shows short films.
Each school on the West Coast made a film and shared it to the
Toki Pounamu Film Festival for other schools to see their film.
The film should have narative, cinematography, sound, scenery and
editing to be a good film. I really enjoyed the first film which was a
robbery. It was about a news report on a robbery. I liked how they
did slow motion when the detective and the news reporter found
the robber and was chasing her. They had a good story line and
amazing costumes. And I loved how they had props like a money
bag, phone cases for phones and Guns for the detective and the
news reporter when they found the robber. I enjoyed watching this
film. :)  

Kiwi collage

We have been learning to make a collage on google drawing.  We had to use explore, mask and arranged tools to get our collage to come together. We had to make a NZ bird and put it into its habitat. It was a lot of fun and I am really pleased with my bird. Have you ever had a go at this.
