Letter about lockdown

Dear Miss Robins

This time four weeks ago my house would have been in rush mode. I would have been eating my
breakfast slowly while my Mum grumped at me to hurry and get dressed so she wasn't late for work.
Now our house is a bit more relaxed. Mum doesn't have work and it doesn't matter if my hair is brushed
or if I do my school work in my pjs.
My dog Auggie loves having me home. She is going on lots of walks and getting heaps of cuddles but
she still gets into mischief.

I am enjoying spending time with my family. We get to bake, go on bike rides and play games.
I miss my other family that is not in my bubble but I can still call them on skype or talk to them on the
home phone.

The most challenging thing being stuck at home is not being able to see my friends face to face and it is
really easy to get bored.
During this lockdown my favourite book so far has been Diary of a Whimpy Kid the ugly truth and my
favourite tv programe has been Itch.
One thing I have learnt is how to use a can opener to open a tin and how to kick butt in the game bat
down.

I have learnt we have some nice people in the community especially the supermarket workers who have
been working extra hard to leave their bubbles and put food on the shelves for us.
We get the easy job of staying home.

  1. Well Ilish, I just laughed out loud when you said about not having to brush your hair, as mine looks like it’s been electrified EVERY day - it’s just that boofy!! I do sort it out though when I talk to Eva and Preston!
You’re right about it being hard not seeing family and friends, that’s why it’s super important to keep in touch with Skype and phone calls.
I’m pleased you mastered a can opener because they are tricky wee things!
    Thanks Ilish. :)
